Time travel Imsterberg
Both Imsterberg and Imsterau were named as places of the Imst court in 1427; the designation at the time was: "the place in the Au and on the Perg". In 1629, a tax separation between Imsterberg and Imsterau became known. In 1811, the political municipality of Imsterberg was established under Bavarian occupation. Shortly before the end of the Second World War, almost all the houses in the village were destroyed during the fighting. But the history of Imsterberg did not end here. The picturesque mountain village was rebuilt under the most difficult conditions - stone by stone, courtyard by courtyard and memory by memory.

On the back of the local mountain, Venet, there is a small ski area in winter and a hiking paradise with a dense network of hiking trails in summer. The Venet-Alm at 1,908 metres above sea level is particularly popular - it is also easily accessible by mountain bike or e-bike. Good to know: The Venet is a mountain massif in the Ötztal Alps, but is geologically very different from its surroundings. It owes its characteristic appearance to the rock - quartz phyllite, which was polished into round surfaces by the Ice Age glaciers. Its peaks are the 2,512 metre high Glanderspitze, the 2,497 metre high Wannejöchl, the 2,464 metre high Kreuzjoch and the 2,208 metre high Krahberg.
