Time travel Mils near Imst
Hospitality has a long tradition in Mils. Even the Romans appreciated the Tyrolean village located on the Via Claudia Augusta. The Roman imperial road connected the Adriatic with Augsburg and led right through Mils, where inns and stables for travellers were built. The village developed along a prominent section of the road, the "Milser Gstoag", and was protected by the surrounding nature of the Milserberg and the floodplain. In the Middle Ages, the small village experienced numerous plagues and destruction, such as the plague in 1348 and the Swabian War in 1499. Despite setbacks such as floods and mudslides in the 16th and 17th centuries, the people of Mils never gave up on their home, so you can spend wonderful holidays there today. Incidentally, the name Mils is derived from "mills", a term for fine-grained soil types that refers to the location of Mils on a cone of debris.
