The Flür winery in Tarrenz stands for the revival of viticulture in North Tyrol. Although winegrowing in this region was documented as early as 965 in Sautens, it later fell into oblivion. Georg and Alexandra Flür have revived this tradition with their winery and are regarded as pioneers of modern viticulture in North Tyrol.
The origins of the Flür winery date back to 1995, when three Baco Noir vines adorned the family’s terrace. From the initial idea of producing their own wine, a passion developed that turned into a profession. Today, the Flür family cultivates around 4.5 hectares with about 20,000 vines, making it one of the largest wineries in Tyrol. Notably, they are the first full-time winemakers in North Tyrol.
A diverse range of wines is offered, including Solaris, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, and Pinot Noir. Their wines are characterized by alpine freshness and delicate fruitiness. This quality has been recognized multiple times: at the AWC Vienna, the largest officially recognized wine competition in the world, they received one gold and two silver medals. Additionally, their "Blanc de Noir" was awarded gold at the Concours International de Lyon.
A visit to the Flür winery in Tarrenz not only provides insights into Tyrolean viticulture but also offers the opportunity to enjoy excellent wines in an authentic setting. For wine lovers and connoisseurs, this winery is an absolute must.
