Weberei Schatz

Old craft traditions can be experienced in Karrösten at the Schatz weaving mill. The abundance of flax in Ötztal and Pitztal provided farmers with an additional source of income. Flax was a labour-intensive crop for farmers, which was cultivated for their own consumption. In the first half of the 19th century, the sale of flax and linen as well as their products was one of the main sources of income in the region. In the Schatz weaving mill, this cultural heritage has been upheld for generations and demonstrated to interested visitors.
