Accessibility statement
The tourism association Imst Tourismus is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Section 76 of the Tyrolean Equal Treatment and Anti-Discrimination Act (Tiroler Gleichbehandlungs- und Antidiskriminierungsgesetz, TGADG), which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. This accessibility statement applies to the website www.imst.at.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) (PDF) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
a) Non-compliance with the accessibility requirements
We are aware of the following issues and are working to fix them, together with our web agency where technical issues are concerned.
- Some images use their file name as alternative text. This fails success criterion 1.1.1 “Non-text Content”.
- Some videos have neither audio description nor an alternative text description of their visual content. This fails success criteria 1.2.3 “Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded)” and 1.2.5 “Audio Description (Prerecorded)”.
- Some headings are not marked up as headings. This fails success criterion 1.3.1 “Info and Relationships”.
- The PDF documents on this website are not accessible. They are not tagged, so screen reader users cannot access structural information such as headings, lists or tables, or can do so only to a limited extent. This fails success criterion 1.3.1 “Info and Relationships”.
- Some text does not have sufficient contrast against its background. This fails success criterion 1.4.3 “Contrast (Minimum)”.
- When the page is strongly magnified in the browser, fixed page areas take up so much space that little room remains for the content. This fails success criterion 1.4.10 “Reflow”.
- The accommodation search and the booking form are not yet fully accessible. Among other things, the keyboard focus is not always visible, and some functions cannot be operated with the keyboard alone. After a selection, the focus is not moved to a sensible position, and status messages are not announced to screen readers. This fails success criteria 2.1.1 “Keyboard”, 2.4.3 “Focus Order”, 2.4.7 “Focus Visible” and 4.1.3 “Status Messages”.
- Some link texts are not descriptive. In these cases, the purpose of the link cannot be determined from the link text or its immediate context. This fails success criterion 2.4.4 “Link Purpose (In Context)”.
- Some buttons are not sufficiently labelled for screen readers. This fails success criterion 3.3.2 “Labels or Instructions”.
- Some link labels are repeated in the title attribute. As a result, they may be read out twice or be obscured when hovering with the mouse. This impairs success criterion 3.3.2 “Labels or Instructions”.
- In the booking process, entered data can neither be reviewed and corrected nor confirmed in a separate step before the booking is submitted with binding effect. This fails success criterion 3.3.4 “Error Prevention (Legal, Financial, Data)”.
- The role of some buttons is announced ambiguously to screen readers. This fails success criterion 4.1.2 “Name, Role, Value”.
- Some buttons are placed inside links. This fails success criterion 4.1.2 “Name, Role, Value”.
b) Disproportionate burden
No content is currently exempted from the accessibility requirements on grounds of disproportionate burden under Section 76(1)(i) TGADG.
c) Content that is not within the scope of the applicable legislation
- Pre-recorded video and audio content published before 23 September 2020 (Section 76(1)(b) TGADG).
- Office file formats such as PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 whose content is not needed for ongoing administrative procedures (Section 76(1)(a) TGADG).
- Online maps and mapping services, such as interactive maps of tours and accommodation. We also provide the essential information, such as addresses or the start, finish and route description of tours, as text (Section 76(1)(d) TGADG).
Accessible alternatives
- If you encounter barriers when searching for or booking accommodation, we will be happy to help you in person, by phone or by e-mail.
- On request, we will provide the content of non-accessible PDF documents in an accessible format.
- On request, we will describe the essential visual content of our videos in text form.

Enforcement procedure
If you do not receive a response, or the response to your report or request is unsatisfactory, you can file a complaint with the Ombudsman Office for Accessible Internet and Mobile Applications of the Province of Tyrol (Ombudsstelle für barrierefreies Internet und mobile Anwendungen). The Ombudsman Office is part of the Service Centre for Equal Treatment and Anti-Discrimination (Servicestelle Gleichbehandlung und Antidiskriminierung).
The Ombudsman Office examines whether Section 76 TGADG has been violated. If the complaint is justified, it issues recommendations and proposes measures to remedy the issues. The easiest way is to send your complaint by e-mail to the address below. Please include your name, the website concerned and a short description of the problem and, if possible, a suggested solution and whether you have already contacted us. Complaints are also accepted by phone or in person. In cases of discrimination on grounds of disability, you can also request mediation by the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner (Antidiskriminierungsbeauftragte).
For more information on the complaints procedure, see the Ombudsman Office’s page Barriere melden (in German).
