From Plattenrain to Venet Alm

The hike starts directly at Plattenrain. At the beginning, the trail passes the idyllic Meditation Chapel before continuing steadily uphill. Right at the start, you cross a spacious alpine pasture, offering wonderful views down into the valley – a beautiful preview of the panoramic scenery that awaits you along the way.

Shortly afterwards, you enter a magical forest. The trail climbs steadily through the peaceful and shady woodland. As you gain altitude, the forest gradually opens up, revealing the alpine meadows of Hochaster Alm. Here, you are once again rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains – the perfect spot for a short break and a few photos.

The trail then leads back into the forest and continues uphill. Eventually, the landscape opens up again and you reach the extensive alpine meadows of Venet Alm. Accompanied by beautiful mountain views, the trail continues across the meadows until you reach Venet Alm, the destination of the hike.

For the return journey, take the comfortable forest road downhill to Hochaster Alm. From there, follow the familiar trail back through the forest and across the alpine pasture to Plattenrain.
