This route leads over the Way of St. James to the long-distance hiking and cycling path of the "Via Claudia Augusta", which became very important to the Fernsteinsee even under the Romans. The family hiking trail starts in the center of Nassereith, past the church and in the school lane to the north. After less than an hour you reach the Fernpassstraße, pass underneath it and walk west past the road past the campsite on a road to the Fernsteinsee. After the lake round trip, the return path before the underpass on the right via a gravel lattice in the forest direction Rastland and then continue over the settlements St. Wendelin and Brunnwald to Nassereith.
