Living Tradition in the Imst Outdoor Region

The dances of Imst Fasnacht follow strict rules, partly in force for centuries. The well-known Fasnacht processions in Imst and Nassereith take place just once every three or four years and attract spectators from near and far with their magic spectacle. In 2010 the Imster Schemenlaufen was even declared intangible cultural heritage

by the UNESCO. The small villages of Tarrenz and Roppen become as well the scenery of unrestrained hustle and bustle of carnival every four years. The Imst Outdoor Region eases the waiting by offering a variety of fascinating events and cultural diversity for its visitors.
