The Tschirgant, with a height of 2,370 meters, is one of the most distinctive peaks in the outdoor region of Imst. The reason for this is its special shape, which resembles a pyramid. From the summit, a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view extends over the Ötztal, Pitztal, Gurgltal, and Inntal. Particularly appealing is that the Tschirgant can be reached via various routes, providing all hikers with a suitable ascent for their level of fitness.
A special feature of the Tschirgant is the three summit crosses, which are associated with the municipalities of Karres, Karrösten, and Haiming. These can be reached from the main summit in about 30 minutes. Sure-footedness is required for this hike. Another highlight is the lookout of the mountain rescue hut at 2,175 meters. Here, the view opens down into the Inntal towards Landeck and over the Pillersattel. The mountain rescue hut is not managed but has a drinks depot.
For a cozy stop, the Karröster Alm and the Karrer Alm are available. The Karröster Alm is located at an altitude of 1,468 meters on the northern side of the Tschirgant massif and is managed from mid-May to the end of October. It invites you to linger with a nice parlour and a spacious sun terrace.
The Karrer Alm is situated at an altitude of 1,648 meters and offers wonderful views over the Inntal and Ötztal. It lies below the Tschirgant and is a popular stop for hikers and mountain bikers.
