On about 30 winding kilometers, the pass road connects the Upper Inn Valley with the Tyrolean Lechtal. Especially the eastern ramp from Imst to the summit demands real endurance with gradients of up to 19 percent – a dream for motorcyclists.
From Imst, the road winds through the impressive Lechtaler Alps of rugged rocks and scree. Up to the summit at 1,894 meters above sea level, you conquer 1,000 meters in elevation. In contrast, the western side offers you a gentler backdrop of forests and meadows with the idyllic Bschlabertal. Here, the villages of Pfafflar, Boden, and Bschlabs invite you to linger with cozy places to eat.
The road is open from late May to late October, depending on the weather. In winter, the section between Boden and Imst is closed due to snow.
