Sinnesbrunn Kapelle

tradition / history

The Sinnesbrunn Pilgrimage Chapel in Tarrenz is a special place that you should not miss during your stay in the region.
The chapel is located at an altitude of 1,520 meters amidst an idyllic glade below the Sinnesjoch. It was built in 1777 by Johann Gapp in honor of the Mother of God. The current structure dates back to 1829 and was made possible by the work and donations of the community members. Since then, the chapel has been a popular pilgrimage site and is protected as a historical monument.
If you wish, you can continue your hike from the Sinnesbrunn Chapel to the Sinnesgatter – a viewpoint offering a wide view of the Fernsteinsee, the Zugspitze, and the Mieminger chain. Whether you just visit the chapel or extend your hike: It's worthwhile in any case!
