Via Claudia Augusta

Via Claudia Augusta

Originally built as a military supply route, the former ‘Imperial Roman Road’ across the Alps linked the Roman motherland to the foothills of the Alps. It went on to become an important and highly influential trading and travel route in the following centuries.

Nowadays it joins up regions, historical periods, people and their cultures, creating a colourful range of impressions and experiences that can still be felt today, for example, on a ride along the Via Claudia Augusta cycling route.
