The Outdoorregion Imst is easily accessible from all directions and has excellent transport links. Munich is only 140 kilometres away, Innsbruck 60 kilometres. Travelling by train within Austria or from Germany, Switzerland and Italy is very relaxed and environmentally friendly. Long-distance travellers can reach us via the airports of Innsbruck (approx. 50 minutes), Munich (approx. 2 hours) or Zurich (approx. 3 hours). You can cover the last few kilometres either by train, hire car or shuttle service.

The Outdoorregion Imst with its holiday villages of Nassereith, Tarrenz, Karres, Karrösten, Mils bei Imst, Roppen, Imsterberg, Schönwies and the historic district capital of Imst was already connected to the international long-distance travel network in Roman times. The Via Claudia Augusta, one of the most important roads of the time, ran through the entire region. Today, you can discover the former imperial road by bike or on foot and follow in the footsteps of the Romans.
