Forest track Schloss Fernstein castle and Lake Fernsteinsee (No. 102)

Your hike starts directly at the fairytale-like Fernsteinsee Castle, which is picturesquely situated on the shore. From here, a wide, flat path leads you clockwise around the lake.

After just a few steps, you will feel the special atmosphere of this place: depending on the light, the water shimmers in shades ranging from turquoise green to deep blue. The path always leads close to the lake through sparse mixed forest, past old trees and small footbridges.

About halfway along, you will reach a particularly beautiful spot on the shore with a bench - perfect for a short break or a picnic. If you like, you can also go directly to the water - but please note: the lake is a nature reserve, so do not swim or throw stones into the water.
