Information

The start of this long and high alpine track is Hoch Imst. From here you walk south, following the Starkenberger Panoramaweg, until you reach the Laggers junction on the right. From here, follow the trail steadily upwards until you reach the summit cross of Laggers (2328 m). From here you can see the Imster Höhenweg, which you follow from now on to Pleiskopf (2560 m) (Attention: at the height of Ödkarlekopf the gpx file may differ slightly). Attention: up to here there are no intermediate descent options. Follow the Larsenngrat for about 1 km. Now the Imster Höhenweg would go right down a secured track towards the Muttekopfhütte.

This track goes over relatively easy climbing passages to the Rotkopf. Attention: not an officially marked hiking trail. There is also the possibility of descending (as previously described) and then ascending again via waterfall to the Rotkopf (2692 m). Once you have reached the Rotkopf, you can enjoy the view of the magnificent Lechtal Alps. Then it goes down again via the waterfall path (partly marked, partly not marked but very good footprints visible) until you come to the descent of the Imster Höhenweg. This leads in a northeasterly direction to the Muttekopf.  Below the blue heads you come to the path, which you follow in zigzag to the Muttescharte and further to the cross of the Imster Muttekopf (2774 m). From the highest point of the route, continue along the ascent path down via the Muttekopfhütte (refreshment stop). Shortly after the hut, the Plattigsteig trail forks off to the left. Follow this and you will reach the Narrenkreuz/ Platteinwiese (2035 m). From here follow the path to the Vordere Platteinspitze. The ascent includes climbing passages that are, however, secured. Arrived at the Vordere Platteinspitze (2562 m) you have a fantastic view of Imst and the Tschirgant. From here it goes back down via the ascent path. However, at the Narrenkreuz straight ahead, following the trail to the Latschenhütte. Pass the Opferstock and the Sprisselstein until the trail joins the forest road (signposted right towards Hoch Imst or Untermarkter Alm). Follow the forest road briefly downhill until you reach the power station. Cross the bridge and follow the path until you reach the toboggan run. From now on follow this to Hoch Imst.
