The Museum in the Ballhaus in Imst invites you to discover the diverse history and culture of the city. Housed in a building from the 16th century that originally served as a warehouse for bales of fabric and was first documented in 1530, the museum offers an authentic glimpse into the past.
The exhibition includes numerous exhibits that illustrate the development from the urn field culture through the medieval guild system to modern art. A special highlight is the Ursuline nativity scene from 1790, one of the largest and most magnificent nativity scenes in Tyrol, consisting of 239 figures in precious garments.
Regularly changing special exhibitions complement the program and shed light on specific aspects of regional history and culture. During the Christmas season, the Ursuline nativity scene is traditionally displayed in the museum and attracts numerous visitors.
