The Römerbadl in Roppen, at the foot of the 2,370-meter-high Tschirgants, is a Kneipp facility that is unparalleled in all of Tyrol. The spring has been known for its healing properties for a long time and is classified today as a calcium-magnesium-sulfate-bicarbonate spring. This mineral composition arises from the mineral-rich rock of the Tschirgants. With a constant water temperature of 12 to 13 degrees Celsius, the facility offers ideal conditions for Kneipp cures. The source got its name because it runs directly alongside a Roman road. Whether the Romans also bathed here is unfortunately not proven.
In the past, there was a simple masonry trough at this site, known as the "Badehäusl," which served not only as a Kneipp facility but also as a drinking place for livestock. Today, an open column hall, reminiscent of Roman bath houses, invites visitors to take a Kneipp walk. The Römer Badl is located directly on the Camino de Santiago and is a popular and refreshing stop for pilgrims and hikers.
