Cruise comfortably every day
Bummelbär Train
It jerks through green meadows, past the picturesque Alpine scenery like a good mood train: the colourful "Bummelbär". Twice a day, young and old railway fans can hop on and be transported for kilometres to beautiful places in the surrounding area. Here you can find out all about the cheerful slow train of the Outdoorregion Imst.

Admittedly, it's not fast. But that's the beauty of the slow train: it chugs so slowly and comfortably through the countryside that the deceleration of the passengers begins as soon as they board: everyone smiles, everyone takes a deep breath, no one has to navigate themselves, find a destination or set route records. Just enjoy and relax. The colourful little train travels without rails, on normal roads - and therefore prefers to hibernate when it's snowing, storming and raining outside. It starts again every year in May and runs until October.
Up to 70 children or 50 adults can board on one trip. Because the "Bummelbär" is so popular, you have to be a bit lucky - unfortunately, seats cannot be reserved. But: with the Imst Card, your holiday pass in the region, the ride on the "Bummelbär" is even free of charge.
On certain days, the Bummelbär even has live music on board! As a welcome gift, all passengers receive a small drink, making the journey through the romantic Gurgltal valley an even more unforgettable experience. Just pop into our information offices or follow us on our social media channels to find out when the musical tours are taking place.
