This challenging bike & hike tour starts by mountain bike at the Postplatz in Nassereith. Follow the Fernpass road and turn left at the supermarket and ride through the Brunnwald and St. Wendelin hamlets.
The forest path winds through the idyllic pine forest, passes Fernsteinsee Castle and leads up to the Fernpass. Cross the main road at the cyclist underpass and then ride up on the forest path over serpentines to the Muthenaualm (Nassereither Alm), which is idyllically situated on an alpine meadow. Park your mountain bike there.
On foot, you first hike slightly uphill through sparse pine forest and then steeply through pine-covered terrain and gravel fields to the summit of the Wannig, which rewards the effort of the ascent with a magnificent panoramic view.
