Poetry Slam - Ein Hoch auf die Sprachkunst

Words as weapons, comfort patches, or declarations of love. Stage presence ranging from goosebumps, fits of laughter, to literary loss of control. Five minutes of time, the audience as jury – in short: Poetry Slam at the city stage Imst.

When the city stage invites to a Poetry Slam, the evening belongs to the brave, the crazy, and those who have had a text tucked away in a drawer for far too long. Whether poetry, prose, spoken word, or something that evades categorization: Anything that is self-written and fits on stage within five minutes is allowed. Sometimes funny, sometimes touching, sometimes angry, sometimes completely absurd – the main thing is that the words take flight.

As usual, the evening will be hosted by Markus Köhle the Godfather of Austrian Poetry Slam himself. Who wins in the end is decided by the audience – with applause, enthusiasm, and the willingness to engage in anything. As a prize, fame, honor, and the legendary bizarre audience donations await. An evening for language lovers, show-offs, and everyone who enjoys marveling at what can happen with a microphone and the right words.
