Peter Trabner and his family are embarking on a world tour and will be performing in Imst for two evenings: With the environmental drama "The Circle of Nature," the German actor combines improvisational showmanship and street theater.
The Circle of Nature is Peter Trabner's personal and highly topical interpretation of Hölderlin's unfinished work The Death of Empedocles, considered the first environmental drama in theater history. In this 75-minute one-man-one-tree performance, ancient philosophy meets the climate crisis, the flood of plastic, and a critique of capitalism – with anarchic wit, intense audience proximity, and a passion for acting that is unparalleled. Trabner's congenial stage partner: a tree – both a symbol and a mirror of nature.
The award-winning production, supported by the Cultural Secretariat of North Rhine-Westphalia, among others, has already been celebrated at renowned festivals in Germany and abroad. Whether in a library or a national park, a town square or a theater – The Circle of Nature works everywhere and is nowhere inoffensive. With this wild mix of street theater, Hölderlin recitation, and improvisational art, Peter Trabner proves that sustainable theater can be loud, poetic, and absolutely unforgettable.
