After more than 30 years of musical friendship and a passion for experimentation, Die Knoedel once again prove why they are considered pioneers of new Alpine chamber music. Their new program, Wunderrad, is a homage to the East Tyrolean inventor Simon Stampfer, whose strobe wheel is considered the origin of the moving image – an invention that creates movement from stillness.
This is precisely what the ensemble achieves: The music thrives on repetition and variation, on a calm pulse that seemingly effortlessly blends into complex soundscapes.
