Speed hiking is the new trend in hiking, where the athlete sets the pace for himself. Speed hiking is not about the best time, the focus is rather on fitness. The mountain is conquered walking at the highest possible individual pace. As with trail running, the weight of the equipment is reduced to a minimum.
From the starting point in the centre, past Johanneskirche church along the Malchbach torrent to the Bergl bridge. Here first turn left, then immediately right (wayside cross, stairs) in the direction of the Hachleschlucht gorge and Hoch-Imst. Along the Hachleschlucht gorge to the Nuireith path. (Coming from Hoch-Imst, the hike starts here!) Keep left in the direction of Linserhof, after 1 km turn left at the crossroads onto the Opferstock path to the Latschenhütte. At the Latschenhütte, turn right in the direction of the Platteinspitze, follow the path to the Narrenkreuz cross (2,035 m). From here, follow the Plattigsteig trail to the Muttekopf hut and from there the Drischlsteig trail (pay attention to trail conditions and warnings/openings!) to destination 2, the Alpjoch mountain station.
