Speed hiking is the new hiking trend, whereas hikers decide on their own pace. Speed Hiking doesn't mean to beat a record, the idea of increasing your fitness is more important. It's about tackling the mountain at your own pace, walking as fast as possible. The weight of the equipment is reduced to a minimum. More and more people are attracted by the fresh air in the mountains. This new hiking discipline has a very positive effect on your physical condition and health.

Austria's first Speed Hiking Park - in Imst!
Following this trend, Imst Tourismus in cooperation with the Imst Mountain Lifts offers sign-posted routes, information and downhill tickets for the cable cars and the Alpine Coaster. The descent is done comfortably by chairlift (Coaster) to relieve joints and muscles. The routes lead from the centre of Imst via Hoch-Imst to the Alpjoch top station at 2,050 m. Three different routes are on offer, signposts are guiding the speed-hikers along the trails and offer information on elevation gain and the remaining distance.
