Hermann Gmeiner - A life for children in need

The first SOS Children’s Village in the world was founded in 1949. Today, millions of people support the children’s villages. The grave of its founder, Hermann Gmeiner, can be visited during the mornings on school holidays.

A guide is available to accompany pre-registered groups and visitors. The sculpture of Hermann Gmeiner at Pflegezentrum in Imst is the work of Merab Berdzenishvili, from Tlbissi/Georgia dedicated to all children in the world.
